BitHeadz To Release Osmosis for Mac OS X

Utility converts Roland and Akai samples for Unity By Dave Nagel
BitHeadz says it plans to release Osmosis for Mac OS X. Osmosis is a utility for converting Roland and Akai samples to the Unity DS-1 and Sample Cell formats. It's expected to be available within the next few weeks.

Osmosis is a sample conversion utility currently available for Mac OS 9. (An older version is also available for Windows, though BitHeadz does not yet support Windows 2000 or XP.) The utility reads Akai S1000 and S3000 and Roland 760/770 formats and offers the ability to convert an entire disk--Zip, Jaz, MO or CD-ROM--into Unity DS-1 or Sample Cell formats. It also supports fragmented Akai disks and disks with bad sectors and allows users to group select programs and samples for batch conversion.

Osmosis for Mac OS X is expected to be released within the next few weeks. BitHeadz has not announced pricing for the software, but the current version runs $179. For more information, visit
