MediaPipe will allow for remote story creation and submittal, delivering coverage to more than 200 domestic affiliates (February 14, 2006)

BitCentral Inc., a leading provider of video content management and distribution solutions, has announced that its MediaPipe content distribution system will be tapped by NBC News Channel to make on-site coverage of the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turino, Italy available to more than 200 NBC domestic affiliate stations and international clients.

Specifically, BitCentrals MediaPipe will be used by NBC News Channel for content distribution directly from Turino to feed stories and content directly into the networks extensive affiliate distribution base. This is the latest use of MediaPipe by the network since its installation in 2003. BitCentral's MediaPipe solution integrates broadcast, satellite-over-IP, and MPEG file technologies in a seamless manner to lower operating costs and increase the productivity of news producers through an easy-to-use desktop application. It's as if our producers are working from our newsroom back in the U.S. states Bob Horner, President of NBC NewsChannel. ?MediaPipe is a real asset, and will greatly enhance our ability to provide excellent Olympic coverage to our clients in an efficient and timely manner."

?BitCentral is privileged to provide a key link in bringing coverage of the 2006 Winter Olympics from Turino, Italy into the homes of millions of viewers in North America, states Fred Fourcher, president and CEO of BitCentral. ?The MediaPipe has enabled a great digital revolution in the newsroom, allowing for streamlined workflow and quick and thorough management of content distribution.
