Big Machine Design Opens MTV's 'Trailer Fabulous'Completes main title show open, and full show graphics package, for newly launched MTV series (September 28, 2005)
Big Machine Design creates main title open and graphics package for MTV's "Trailer Fabulous"
BMDs client for this project was George Plamondon, co-executive producer of ?Trailer Fabulous.
In the newly launched weekly series, show host/rapper Brooks Buford and his design team roll into a different trailer park to give one lucky kid a head-to-toe, front-to-back style makeover. While famed designer Johnny Hardesty and tough-guy landscaper Gino Panaro transform the trailer into a pimped-out crib on wheels, stylist Erika Martin revamps the chosen kid's wardrobe and personal style. With its team of dedicated professionals, and the near endless variety of trailers in trouble, ?Trailer Fabulous is a new kind of make-over show that definitely proves there's no place like home.
Regarding their work on the project, BMD Executive Producer Steve Petersen said, ?When TV shows come to us for a new graphics package, they almost always start off by wanting a unique, signature look that will set their main title apart -- but somewhere along the revision process, the direction takes a 'safe' and 'familiar' turn. This time, the producers of the show and the network execs really meant what they set out to do, and let us come up with a way to brand the show, with basically no changes to our original conception. Its exciting to be able to contribute to a new series like this.
"We took the idea of TV show makeovers and transformation and applied those concepts to the graphics presented in this new main title sequence," said BMD Creative Director Ken Carlson. "Footage from the show is transformed into stylized and fun title cards that reflect the tone of the show."
