Big Machine Design (BMD), a full-service creative services studio based in Hollywood, has completed the main title show open, and full show graphics package to the new MTV show, “The 70’s House.” The announcement was made today by BMD co-founders Steve Petersen and Ken Carlson.

On behalf of client Super Delicious Productions, and Cara Tapper, Executive Producer, BMD has delivered the main title and show package, including all in-show graphics, lower thirds, and transitions.

On the MTV show “The 70s House,” 12 young people kick their modern, 2005 coolness to the curb to live in a groovy 1970s-era house, in the hopes of winning cash and fabulous prizes. The series premieres on Tuesday, July 5, at 10:30 pm, and will feature guest appearances by some of the biggest names from the ‘70s, including Erik Estrada, Deney Terrio, Jimmy Walker, Leif Garrett, and others. The show is co-hosted by “Bert and Dawn,” played by stand-up comics Bil Dwyer and Natasha Leggero, who lead the housemates on this far-out journey back in time.

Regarding BMD’s work, Tapper said, “Big Machine Design delivered fun and playful graphics, just like the series. They really captured the essence and spirit of this show. We were thrilled with the end result, they were great guys to work with.”

“The '70s is always a fun era to design for," said BMD Executive Producer Steve Petersen. "There were so many iconic visual elements of that decade that are a blast to design and animate like rainbows, fractals, tye-dye, unicorns, flowers and peace signs. Added BMD Creative Director Ken Carlson, "The producers didn't want the design to overshadow the fun of the show. The challenge with this project was creating a design that looked like it could have been executed in the '70s, but still had modern production values."
