Bias Updates Peak

3.1 release supports AAC audio By Dave Nagel
Bias has released a new update to Peak, the company's audio editing, processing and mastering suite for the Macintosh. The new version supports QuickTime 6 and AAC audio. It's available now for free for current 3.0 users.

The 3.1 update is available for Peak, Peak LE and Peak DV. Little information is available about the update itself, aside from its QT 6 and AAC audio support. A separate version of the updater is available for G4 and pre-G4 Mac models.

Peak itself is a stereo audio editing, processing and mastering application for the Macintosh. It's fully Mac OS X native and also runs under Mac OS 8.6 through 9.2. Peak 3 supports built-in audio and a range of third-party hardware via Sound Manager or Apple's CoreAudio standard.

The full version of Peak runs $499. Peak LE sells for $99. And Peak DV (optimized for working with NLEs) runs $199. For more information or to download the update, visit
