Bias Ships Peak DV for OS X

Free upgrade available for users of previous version By Dave Nagel
Bias has released the first commercial audio application for Mac OS X targeted for digital video editors. According to the company, its Peak DV product began shipping in final form last week. The company has been promising free OS X upgrades to its audio products for some time now for those who purchase the current OS 9 versions of Peak 3.0 and Deck 3.5.

Peak DV is a special edition of Peak that was previously only available to users of Apple's Final Cut Pro. Now the digital audio editing suite is available to anyone

"Peak DV for Mac OS X has been a highly anticipated product and we are very pleased to bring this high-end solution to the entire professional content creation community," said Jason Davies, Bias vice president of worldwide sales, in a prepared statement. "Peak DV takes full advantage of Mac OS X's advanced features such as Core Audio functionality, protected memory and the elegant Aqua user interface. Peak DV for Mac OS X delivers superior audio capabilities and is ideal for those working with digital video editing applications."

Bias says the OS X versions of Deck 3.5 and the full OS X version of Peak will be available "in the near future." In the meantime, Peak DV is available for $199. The Mac OS X upgrade is available free to users of the OS 9 version of Peak DV. For more information, visit
