Bias Intros Peak 4.1

SoundSoap Pro Pricing also announced By Dave Nagel
Bias has announced an update to Peak, an audio mastering and editing suite. The new 4.1 version will include Roxio Jam and SFX Machine LT. The company has also announced pricing for its upcoming SoundSoap Pro. Both are expected to be released this quarter for Mac OS X.

SoundSoap Pro is an audio restoration suite targeted toward professional audio producers, engineers, musicians, sound designers and forensic scientists. It combines four tools into one tabbed window, as opposed to the previous version, which used four separate plugins for restoration. It adds multi-band noise reduction, grouping 512 bands into 12 discrete threshold reduction sliders, along with attack, release and tilt controls. It also offers enhanced video and audio monitoring and support for Peak 4 (VST/Audio Units), Pro Tools (RTAS), Logic Audio (Audio Units), Digital Performer (Audio Units), Nuendo/Cubase SX/Wavelab (VST), Sonar (DirectX) and other compatible hosts. According to Bias, SoundSopa Pro will sell for $599 when it ships.

Peak is an audio editing and mastering suite. The new 4.1 version will include Roxio Jam and SFX Machine LT. Peak includes ImpulseVerb, a convolution-based reverb with more than 250 MB of sampled room environments; Harmonic Rotate; Vbox multi-effects matrix; Sqweez compressor/limiter; Freq 4 band paragraphic EQ; 25 additional VST effects; and support for Audio Units. With SFX Machine LT, the software adds 21 new presets, such as Multi-Vox 3, RoboTalk, BackwardsFragment 5, Jimi Echo, Triggered Wah+Dist and others. The software can also save to the Jam Image format for burning with Jam.

SoundSoap Pro and Peak 4.1 will be available this quarter for Mac OS X. SoundSoap Pro will sell for $599. Peak 4.1 sells for $499, with upgrades starting at $149. (Those who purchased Peak 4 after Jan. 1 will be eligible for a free download update.) For more information, visit
