Berklee Press Releases Guide to Finale Notation Software

Berklee Press, publishing arm of the world-renowned Berklee College of Music, has released "Finale: An Easy Guide to Music Notation," a detailed guide to getting the most out of Finale music notation software

Finale has evolved into the worlds most-used music notation program by offering powerful, flexible tools that serve the needs of novice and veteran composers as well as those of music teachers designing programs for secondary and advanced curricula.

"Finale: An Easy Guide to Music Notation" provides a comprehensive, step-by-step exploration of all of Finales capabilities and applications, including its uses in the classroom. Written by music educator Thomas E. Rudolph and producer and composer Vincent A. Leonard, Jr., the book comes with a CD-ROM containing tutorials for each of the hundreds of hands-on exercises in the book.

Both Macintosh and Windows-compatible, the CD-ROM also offers professional templates, articulations and dynamics libraries, and General MIDI instrument libraries.

Author Thomas Rudolph is a founding director of the Technology Institute for Music Educators, and serves as an adjunct professor of music at the University of the Arts in Wyncote, Penn., and musical director for the Haverford School District in the state. His co-author, Vincent Leonard, has premiered his original compositions worldwide, and is widely known as a copyist and arranger. He has worked with such artists as Peter Nero, The Philly Pops Orchestra, the London Symphony Orchestra, and Chuck Mangione.
