Beat the Traffic Adapts Real-Time, 3-D Traffic Maps for International Broadcast Use(August 31, 2011)
Santa Clara, CA (PRWEB) August 31, 2011
Beat the Traffic®, a leading provider of real-time traffic information for broadcasters and mobile devices, announced today it has adapted its award-winning Beat the Traffic three-dimensional (3-D) mapping software used by television broadcasters for international use. The company will demonstrate its new mapping software along with new, interactive maps featuring real-time traffic conditions in most major European cities at the International Broadcasting Convention held Sept. 9-13, 2011 at the RAI Exhibition and Convention Centre in Amsterdam.
Already used by 55 North American TV and media affiliates, Beat the Traffic's animated 3-D maps developed specifically for broadcasters utilize high-resolution topography and allow television news reporters to zoom in on specific road incidents, including delays, accidents and roadway construction. Along with average road speed information and travel times, broadcasters can use the maps to provide accurate, up-to-the-minute traffic forecasts for their viewers, as well as customize them for specific audiences.
As weve seen in North America, TV and cable operators that deliver detailed, real-time traffic data information that travelers can use to save time, money fuel and frustration are able to build a tremendous level of trust with their audiences, said Beat the Traffic President & CEO Andre Gueziec. With our technology now available internationally, we look forward to helping greater numbers of broadcasters strengthen and grow their own relationships with viewers, while also helping them travel smoothly and safely.
Already the fastest-growing provider of traffic data in North America, Beat the Traffic is riding an amazing string of recent accomplishments, including wrapping up its most successful month since launching in 2005.
Earlier this year, Beat the Traffic released new versions of its new live traffic maps that provider even greater detail about traffic conditions than ever before, including live traffic camera shots and traffic incident details. The company recently entered the European market by making its mobile traffic app available for iPhones in Germany. In August, the company signed five new TV and major media affiliates in North America, the most ever in one month. And on August 30th, Beat the Traffics mobile traffic apps for iPhone, iPad, Android and Blackberry mobile devices were featured on NBC's Today Show as a valuable technology tool to beat the morning grind.
