Baraka Promotes David FreemantleHeads up expanding offline editing division. (May 28, 2004)
Baraka Post Production has increased its focus on its offline editing activities with the promotion of David Freemantle to head up a new offline editing division.
Up until now, the principle focus of Barakas activity has been on its online editing and special effects facilities, with particular success in the High Definition (HD) area.
The offline editing side had been operated more as a support service for the online areas rather than a business in its own right. The appointment of one of Londons best offline editors to head up the new department demonstrates Barakas dedication to provide the very best talent and service in offline editing as it has done for online and effects editing with its award winning facilities.
Baraka has amassed a talented crew to kick-start the new operation. David Freemantle is joined by Baraka staff members Roy Shephard, Caroline Sarin and Ben Luria. Together, their project list contains commercials for British Telecom and Toyota, broadcast projects for The Discovery Channel and BBC, and corporate presentations for major companies such as Vauxhall, Shell and British Airways.
Baraka uses Avid Media Composer for its offline facilities and further hardware expansion is expected to follow.
David Freemantle has over 19 years of editing and industry experience behind him and after being poached by Baraka from his company, Ruthless; he joined forces with Baraka and continued within an editing role. ?I missed the management side of running a department and with the support of Baraka, I can now return to the official management role and still continue to edit as well this brings exciting new changes to my role at Baraka and I am thrilled about it, Freemantle said. Freemantle plans to develop his offline department and has further recruitment plans in store with the increasing work demand. David Freemantle was at The Production Show last week to assess new technology for his expanding off line suites at Baraka.
