BOXLIGHT Introduces 1,000-Lumen LCD Projector

$1,999, just over 6 lbs. (January 14, 2002)
BOXLIGHT introduced the SP-9t for presenters on the go, as well as home theater enthusiasts. The projector has an MSRP of $1999, weighs 6.17 pounds, and has 1000 ANSI lumens. The projector measures 10 x 3 x 9 inches. The company says this unit also features 90% brightness uniformity, ensuring images toward the outer edges of the screen are just as vivid as those in the center. It has 800 x 600 SVGA resolution (compressed 1280 x 1024 SXGA).

The SP-9t offers DRIT (Digital Realized Interpolation Technology), which creates a resolution "free" environment by digitally reconstructing the image by expansion (VGA) or compression (XGA and SXGA). Also included in this value-packed unit is a power management function. If no signal is received after a five-minute period, the lamp will automatically shut off. No longer will the projector be running all night if you forget to turn it off when you leave the room. This feature will help conserve the life of the lamp.

The HDTV-compatible SP-9t holds an FCC Class B rating, certifying it for home use, providing reasonable protection against harmful interference from radio communications in a residential setting. The built-in component video input offers the best video image quality possible and is compatible with standard RCA connections.

It has a throw distance of 5.3-26.6 and comes with the new smaller card-type remote that lets you access a number of the units main features, including digital keystone adjustment and digital zoom imaging.
