B1 Media Adds HD CapabilitiesMajor services expansion to include multiple high definition formats (December 10, 2004)
B1 Media has expanded its services to include multiple high definition formats for feature films, DVD, featurettes, games and authoring. The studio now features a SAN environment with HD, fiber network for high-speed transfers, Final Cut HD, Pro Tools HD, and Panasonics AJ-HD1700 and Sonys HDW-F500.
?We have a great team in place, including a R&D committee to work with the next generation of HD, said CEO Brian Johnson. ?Our Creative Director, Brian Metcalf, worked on the first HD DVD ?Digital Video Essentials and our QC head, Craig Rudnick, has a tremendous eye for detail and has QCd HD transfers including ?The Lord of The Rings Trilogy.
?B1 is ready to work in both HD DVD and Blu-ray and these new formats will allow us to elevate our creativity and provide a new level of design for our clients. We look forward to pushing the limits of interactivity and creating new and unique user interfaces that are easy for consumers to navigate, said Johnson.
?We see tremendous potential for games in the next generation of DVD set-top players, added B1s Senior Game Producer, Kim Abrams. ?The combination of increased storage capacity, support for high-level development environments, and internet connectivity will allow us to create interactive experiences unlike anything in the past.
B1/Blue Room Drama Productions recently produced an HD short, ?Sorrows Lost, which will be distributed on DVD in the HD format by B1. It was shot on the Panasonic Vari-Cam and will be posted and authored at B1, according to Johnson.
