Automatic Duck To Ship Composition Import for Final Cut ProSoftware allows FCP timelines to be imported into After Effects 5.5
The software is based upon a previous release from Automatic Duck called Automatic Composition Import, which was designed to bring Avid compositions into After Effects in the same way. The new version for Final Cut Pro 3 will support both Mac OS 9 and Mac OS X 10.1.
The software comprises two plugins--an OMF Export plugin for Final Cut Pro and and OMF Import plugin for After Effects. The company says the entire process takes "just a few seconds" and that all aspects of the timeline can be shared between the two programs, including clips that have been scaled, rotated or animated, including animations using keyframes. The whole FCP project becomes a comp in After Effects, with layer integrity maintained.
Pricing has not yet been set for Automatic Composition Import FCP. The earlier Avid version sells for $495. There's also a version for Avid XPress DV that sells for less than $300. We'll bring you updated information when pricing for the Final Cut Pro version is set. For more information, visit http://www.automaticduck.com.
