Automatic Duck Pro Import 2.0 ReleasedTranslation software brings Avid and Final Cut Pro timelines to After Effects and RED
Automatic Duck Pro Import 2.0 offers the features of the company's earlier translation software, Automatic Composition Import, but with extended functionality. According to Automatic Duck, these enhancements include the translation of more Avid effects (Picture in Picture, Resize, 3D Warp, Superimpose and 3D Picture in Picture); translation of audio levels and keyframes from Avid and Final Cut Pro into After Effects; and AAF import, including translation of Avid locators into After Effects and RED. It also adds support for After Effects 6.0 and the ability to bring FCP timelines into the Windows version of After Effects.
As of this writing, Automatic Duck Pro Import supports Final Cut Pro 3.x only, which, according to the company, is owing to a change in FCP's plugin architecture with version 4.0. Automatic Duck says an update will be forthcoming when Apple releases its XML support plugins, sometime later this summer. For Avid, the software supports Avid ABVB systems (7.x/2.x), Meridien systems and Xpress DV.
Automatic Duck Pro Import 2.0 is available now for Mac OS X and Windows for $495. Upgrade pricing is also available. For more information, visit http://www.automaticduck.com.
