Automatic Duck President Wes Plate to Present at 2006 AAF Awareness Event

Demonstrates Strategies for Using AAF Formats to Enable Final Cut Pro Editors in High-End HD Workflows (June 28, 2006)

Automatic Duck (, the creators of Timeline Integration Engine software for digital media artists, today announced that Wes Plate, president of Automatic Duck, will present strategies for leveraging AAF formats in complex HD workflow environments during the 2006 AAF Awareness Event, being held on July 11 12, 2006 in Burbank California by the Advanced Authoring Format (AAF) Association.

During the Awareness Event, Wes Plate will participate in vendor-sponsored demo session to show attendees how, leveraging AAF, editors using Apples Final Cut Pro in an offline editorial role can interchange with high-end, HD-capable platforms such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Avid or Quantel, to complete the HD editing workflow.  Automatic Duck will also join such industry leaders as Avid Technology, Adobe, Quantel and Snell & Wilcox to in a panel discussion to highlight AAF and its contributions to improved workflows and efficiencies.

?I am very pleased to see Automatic Duck participating in the event, said Brad Gilmer, executive director of the AAF Association.  ?It signals their commitment to their customers and the industry, and shows that they understand how critical it is to be able to interchange video, audio and metadata as a part of digital workflows.  AAF and MXF are key enabling technologies.

"Automatic Duck has always been about simplifying and accelerating the editing workflow by connecting editing platforms that dont easily work together.  The 2006 AAF Awareness Event is an excellent opportunity for us to not only demonstrate the benefits of AAF in a typical workflow, but actually leverage this platform to address the more complex workflow issues facing editors today, specifically the integration of multiple editing platforms in a high definition environment, said Wes Plate, president of Automatic Duck.

Incorporated in January 2000, the AAF Association is a broadly-based trade association intended to promote the development and adoption of AAF and MXF technology throughout the digital media industry.  Automatic Duck has partnered with the AAF association in the past to promote the benefits of this rapidly-emerging digital media file exchange format, highlighting its impact on timeline integration and interchange applications.

The 2006 AAF Association Awareness Event and Conference will be held on July 11 and 12, 2006 at the Hilton Burbank Airport and Convention Center.  For more information on the Conference agenda, please visit
