Authorities searching for 2 Missouri sisters

Mo. authorities speak with person of interest in the disappearance of 2 sisters on Friday By The Associated Press

EDGERTON, Mo. (AP) ¯¯¯ Authorities are continuing to search for two sisters who disappeared from a western Missouri home on Friday, leaving behind two young children, their purses and a cellphone.

The Platte County Sheriff's Department said Sunday that authorities are speaking with a person of interest and have executed two search warrants.

Britny Haarup, 19, and Ashley Key, 22, were reported missing Friday after Haarup's fianc¯¯e found his 6- and 18-month old daughters alone in the same crib.

Relatives say there was blood on the couch and that firearms belonging to the fianc¯¯e were missing from the home in Edgerton, about 35 miles north of Kansas City.

On Saturday, a truck linked to the women was found parked on a gravel road.

Family members say Key had been running with a bad crowd.
