Aurora Releases Beta Mac OS X Drivers for Igniter

Capture cards also gain new functionality in Mac OS X By Dave Nagel
Aurora Video Systems has released beta drivers for its Igniter series of digital video capture cards for the Macintosh. The new beta drivers, available now, add support for Mac OS X and also add additional features. The company has not announced a final release date for the drivers.

The new Mac OS X drivers are available at no cost. They support all IgniterLT, Igniter and IgniterRT boards and add additional features. This includes the addition of the Igniter Film bundle to any existing Igniter101, Igniter201, Igniter301, IgniterRT111,  IgniterRT211 and IgniterRT311. Aurora also says that, running under Mac OS X, the cards can play several QuickTime formats directly from the timeline through all of the available outputs, including SDI, component, S-video and composite, simultaneously in both PAL and NTSC.

The new driver is available now from Aurora's Web site. For more information, visit To download the new driver, visit
