Aurora Launches Pipe Capture Board

Final Cut Pro card supports RT Extreme By Dave Nagel
Aurora Video System has started shipping Aurora Pipe, a new capture and editing board for Apple's Final Cut Pro. The new board is designed for offline editors working with uncompressed applications that do not require hardware-accelerated real-time effects. It's available now for Mac OS X.

Aurora Pipe offers full support for Final Cut Pro 4's RT Extreme technologies, as well as composite and S-video I/O and 16 bit, 48 kHz, dual-channel RCA unbalanced audio. It provides synchronization between the Macintosh desktop and NTSC/PAL video display via True Color Filtering for enhanced colorspace conversion and supports upper- and lower-field PAL with no rendering required to operate in an upper-field-first PAL timeline. It also provides single- and dual-field playback control. And it offers real-time preview compatibility with Discreet Combustion and Adobe After Effects.

Aurora Pipe is available now for Mac OS X for $799. For more information, visit
