Aurora Brings Igniter to Mac OS X

OS X driver update free for current users By Dave Nagel
Aurora Video Systems has released Mac OS X drivers for its Igniter digital video editing boards. Igniter is designed for use with Apple Final Cut Pro and Adobe Premiere on the Mac, though it was previously available only for Mac OS 9. The Mac OS X update is available now free for current Igniter users.

The new Igniter drivers are available for all Igniter, IgniterLT and IgniterRT boards. According to Aurora, the drivers include additional functionality, aside from Mac OS X support. The Mac OS X update adds the Igniter Film Bundle to Igniter101, Igniter201, Igniter301, IgniterRT111, IgniterRT211 and IgniterRT311. In addition, the OS X version allows for "many" Apple QuickTime formats to be played directly from an editing timeline out through all available IgniterRT outputs, including SDI, component, S-video and composite, simultaneously.

The Igniter update for Mac OS X is available now. For more information, visit http;//
