Attitude Studio To Show Latest Incarnation of Eve Solal at SIGGRAPH(August 07, 2001)
The artists at Attitude Studio developed Eve Solal as a way to illustrate their world-leading talent in building virtual characters. Eve Solal was brought to life with a lot of imagination and a combination of professional animation tools including Vicon 8 motion capture, Alias|Wavefront's Maya, Kaydarašs FiLMBOX and mental imagešs mental ray. Attitude's proprietary tools, including its Emotion Mapper were used to simulate both body and facial muscle deformations to translate human emotional response onto the final model of Eve.
"When we debuted the first version of Eve Solal in Paris last year, she became an instant sensation. We are looking forward to showing Eve to a US audience, because we have made her even more lifelike than the well-known virtual characters that have become popular among audiences today. After many hours of imagination and hard work, our team created a version of Eve that will make people question whether or not she is actually real," commented Marc Miance, chairman and managing director of Attitude Studio.
"Eve Solal has become a well-known Parisian personality. She has her own radio show, a dedicated fan base, and recently did a four-page modeling shoot for Madame Figaro, a leading French fashion magazine, said Frederic Levy, co-founder of Attitude Studio. ŗEve is indicative of the characters that we create for a wide variety of production markets including film, gaming and animation," added Levy.
