As Tablet Sales Double in One Month, App Developer Demand Increases(January 25, 2012)
Flower Mound, TX (PRWEB) January 25, 2012
Genuitec, LLC, maker of the iOS app development technology MobiOne, has seen a dramatic shift in the demand for app creation tools during the period of time reported in a study by the Pew Internet & American Life Project titled, Tablet and E-book reader Ownership Nearly Double Over the Holiday Gift-Giving Period.
"We've seen a similar uptick in our users creating iPad apps for the App Store as this research indicates - the market is moving fast as more consumers demand higher-quality content," said Wayne Parrott, vice president of product development at Genuitec. "This data from Pew Internet & American Life Project is really interesting for a few reasons; one reason is to see that the holiday season went remarkably well for popular tablet makers, but also that the market is becoming seeded with your 'mom and dad' who received gifts like the Kindle Fire and now will explore apps that suit their lifestyles - this presents a new opportunity for creative app developers to enter a growing market.
The Pew Internet & American Life Project report found that cheaper prices for the Kindle Fire and Nook tablets during the holiday season brought many new users into market, while overall tablet growth (iPad, ect...) doubled from 10 percent to 19 percent ownership. Older consumers in the 50-64 year-old age range saw an increase of 9 percent in tablet ownership.
MobiOne has found appeal with app designers by bridging the gap for iOS development on Windows operating systems, so users can now design and build App Store-ready iOS apps without needing a Mac. This means there is no longer an additional, expensive requirement to buy a Mac machine or learn Objective-C (Apple's language) to design and build world-class apps that operate natively on iOS devices. Apple shipped a reported 13-14 million iPads during the holiday season, so the market is ready for higher-quality, higher productivity applications.
MobiOne is designed for web developers, marketing departments, business consultants, and anyone who doesn't know Objective-C, but wants to create and build App Store-ready iPhone and iPad applications. That's because MobiOne uses drag-n-drop functionality similar to stringing together a PowerPoint presentation, but has a powerful engine that allows users to build iOS apps or webapps from the same code base.
Previously, MobiOne supported a webapp-only model that allowed design of webapps that run on iOS devices. Now, users can design native apps or webapps with the same design files, using AppCenter.
