Arraignment delay in Calif. homeless killingsArraignment postponed for suspect in California killings of 4 homeless men
SANTA ANA, Calif. (AP) ' Arraignment has been postponed for a 23-year-old former Marine on charges he stabbed to death four Southern California homeless men in a killing spree that terrorized people living on the streets of suburban Orange County.
Itzcoatl (its-KWAH-tel) Ocampo appeared in a jailhouse courtroom Wednesday but his arraignment was postponed until Feb 17 at the request of his attorney.
He's being held without bail.
Ocampo is charged with four counts of murder and allegations of multiple murders, lying in wait and use of a weapon. Prosecutors say he stalked and repeatedly stabbed his victims.
The serial killings occurred between late December and last week, when witnesses at the scene of the latest killing chased Ocampo and he was arrested.
