Argentina's Carburando Delivers High Definition Motor Sports with Grass ValleyMotor Sports Broadcaster purchases 14 Grass Vlley LDK 8000 Elite HD cameras with HD Triax Transmission (March 06, 2012)
In its existing standard definition production vehicle, Carburando was using Grass Valley LDK cameras and triax
cables, and wanted to maintain as much commonality as possible when it moved to HD. While the company carefully considered all available HD cameras, the Grass Valley LDK 8000 Elite demonstrated a clearly superior image quality as well as being easy to integrate and familiar for operators.
With much of the company's work in hot summer heat and cold mountain locations, Carburando was very impressed with the LDK 8000 Elite's ability to work consistently and reliably across a broad range of operating
"We wanted to use triax connectivity because it is rugged and reliable, and we have a lot invested in triax
cable," said Pablo Kotodij, Technical Manager of Carburando. "The LDK 8000 Elite cameras from Grass Valley with the HD Triax transmission system allow us to have rugged and stable cable runs, which we need for motor circuits, without any risk to signal quality. Teamed up with great pictures, that is an important benefit
Grass Valley was able to meet a challenging timescale, with all 14 cameras delivered to Buenos Aires within
30 days of the order. The newly equipped HD truck will be on the road beginning in February 2012.
"Sports production companies around the world standardize on Grass Valley cameras because they deliver the
functionality, quality, and operational simplicity customers need when they spend all their time working
under pressure," said Jeff Rosica, Executive Vice President of Grass Valley. "Carburando is an important
customer for us, because its truck is busy covering all aspects of motor sport throughout Argentina as a
banner for our cameras."
