Arboretum Announces Montage for Mac OS XCocoa video editor coming in January
Montage includes a "trackless" workspace for operating with video and audio files. Media clips can be imported or captured in real time from a FireWire DV camera using remote machine control. And video clips can be dragged on top of one another to produce dissolves, which are fully editable. The software includes compositing features, as well as editing and effects features. It also offers audio editing and effects processing.
Video effects and controls include time stretching, Alpha Gain, Brightness, ColorSync, HSL Balance, RGB Balance, Blur, Edge Detection, Emboss, General Convolution, Sharpen, Color Style, Color Tint, Film Noise and Lens Flare. Transitions include Alpha Compositor, Channel Compositor, Chroma Key, Crossfade, Explode, Implode, Zoom, Gradient Wipe, Iris, Matrix Wipe, Push, Radial, Slide and Wipe.
Free audio effects include Hyperprism's Auto Pan, Band Pass, Band Reject, Hi Pass, Flanger, Lo Pass, More Stereo, Ring Modulator, Tremolo and Vibrato. In addition, the remaining Hyperprism audio effects will be available as a separate plugin at the time of the software's release.
Montage will be a Cocoa-based application supporting Mac OS X only. It support all common file formats for importing audio, video and stills and will sell for $99 (introductory price). After the introductory period, it will sell for $149. FOr more information, visit http://www.arboretum.com.
