eMacs get price reduction By Dave Nagel
Apple has announced updates to its iMac line of consumer all in one desktop systems. The company has also reduced prices on two eMac models. The new models and price reductions are available now.

For the high-end 17-inch iMac, the new configuration includes a 133 MHz system bus and DDR memory, as well as a 4x SUperDrive for burning CDs and DVDs. It includes an Nvidia GeForce4 MX graphics card with 64 MB RAM, a 1 GHz G4, internal support for AirPort Extreme and Bluetooth wireless networking, an 80 GB hard drive and Apple Pro speakers. It sells for $1,799.

The 15-inch iMac includes an 800 MHz G4, a 32x combo DVD-ROM/CD-RW drive, Nvidia GeForce4 MX graphics card with 32 MB RAM, 256 MB system memory, internal support for AirPort wireless networking, a 60 GB internal hard drive and Apple Pro Speakers. It sells for $1,299.

The 800 MHz eMac shares all of the same features as the 800 MHz iMac but comes with a 17-inch CRT display rather than a 15-inch LCD. It sells for $1,299.
