Apple Updates Mac OS X

New version enhances functionality, performance By Dave Nagel
Apple has released a new update for Mac OS X. The new 10.2.5 version adds a number of functionality and performance enhancements in a variety of areas, including software and hardware. It's available now as a free update through the Software Update system pane.

According to Apple, Mac OS X 10.2.5 offers "enhanced functionality and improved reliability for the following applications, services and technologies: AirPort, Bluetooth, Classic compatibility, FireWire, Graphics, Image Capture, Mail and OpenGL," as well as audio, disc recording, graphics and printing.

It also includes enhancements to networking, including Apple File Protocol, Web services, dial-up connections over PPP, and Windows file services. And it offers updated security services and includes the latest security updates.
