Apple Updates Mac OS X

10.2.4 adds functionality, application enhancements By Dave Nagel
Apple has released an update to Mac OS X. The new version, 10.2.4, addresses a number of performance issues and also enhances some applications, as well as Classic compatibility. It's available now through Software Update.

According to APple, Mac OS X 10.2.4 offers improved functionality for Address Book, Classic compatibility, Finder, FireWire, Graphics, OpenGL, Sherlock, Apple and Windows file sharing, audio, disc recording, graphics and printing. For audio, the new version improves the quality of audio captured from FireWire devices; fixes a bug in which some classic applications fail to sample audio; improves voice activation for Classic applications; and adds support for mLAN devices.

For printing, it now offers a submenu for custom paper sizes; includes Rendezvous support for Brother printers; addresses a security issue with CUPS printing; and includes a shared printers list by default in the Page Setup dialog.
