Apple Releases Safari Beta 2

Apple has released Safari Beta 2, a new public prerelease of the company's Macintosh Web browser. According to the company, the browser has had more than 2 million downloads since its first public beta release in January. It's available now as a free download for Mac OS X.

Apple touts Safari as the "fastest Web browser ever created for the Mac. The latest release adds several new features, including tabbed browsing and automatic form filling. The new AutoFill feature uses information from the Address Book or previous forms to fill in data in Web forms. It also provides the option of automatically filling in user names and passwords.
