Apple Cancels Paris Expo

Company cites safety as concern By Dave Nagel
Apple today announced it's canceling Apple Expo 2001, which was scheduled to take place at the Paris Expo in Porte de Versailles, Sept. 26 through 30.

In a prepared statement, CEO Steve Jobs said, "We're canceling Apple Expo in the wake of last week's devastating and tragic events. We're sorry to disappoint our users and developers, but their safety is our primary concern."

Apple's plans for the expo had been published in advance this year. The company said it did not intend to introduce any new products, but rather to focus on Mac OS X 10.1 and iDVD 2. More information about Apple Expo 2001 can be found at http://www.apple.com/hotnews.
