AppLytics and 4INFO Partner to Deliver iPhone Analytics and AdvertisingDevelopers Can Now Drive Viral Marketing and Advertising via SMS (December 01, 2009)
SAN MATEO, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 12/01/09 -- AppLytics, the world's first turn-key viral monetization and optimization platform for mobile games and applications developers, and 4INFO, a leading mobile media company and pioneer of SMS advertising and publishing services, announced today a partnership to deliver expanded marketing channels and revenue drivers for mobile iPhone application developers.
AppLytics provides mobile application marketing, analytics and monetization services, focused primarily on the iPhone market. This partnership will expand the functionality of AppLytics' ApplyFire(TM) tool and give iPhone developers a means to use free SMS services from 4INFO to distribute their applications. ApplyFire is the only mobile SMS invitation tool specifically designed to optimize and increase sales for mobile applications by providing direct and trackable download links to applications via text messages from friends.
AppLytics and 4INFO will partner to offer features such as "send to a friend" and expanded mobile advertising via text messaging. Traditionally developers have been limited to email as their primary viral expansion channel. This partnership gives developers the ability to expand beyond this traditional marketing channel and make full use of the iPhone address book and SMS in-box. SMS can be used to encourage users to return to the application, allow users to discover new applications, or to drive word-of-mouth engagement.
"Our mission is to solve developers' primary problem -- to market their product and retain users, which drives revenue on their free and paid applications," said Jeff Freebairn, CEO of AppLytics. "4INFO has the largest SMS reach in the U.S., and established expertise in text message publishing, making them the natural choice for this initiative."
"We have found that smart phone users are major consumers of text messaging," said Ted Burns, vice president of products at 4INFO. "Reaching this iPhone audience through SMS gives applications developers the advantage in both discovery and monetization. The AppLytics partnership is the first of several initiatives 4INFO will be announcing to target and serve the smart phone market more effectively while expanding our breadth of mobile offerings for publishers."
