Apogee Ships Mini-DAC Portable D/A ConverterTwo-channel device offers 192 kHz sampling
The Mini-DAC is a two-channel D/A converter offering up to 192 kHz sample rates. It comes in a one-third rack width configuration (with an optional 1U rackmount kit also available) and includes inputs for single- and double-wide AES; optical (ADAT, S/MUX and S/PDIF), S/PDIF coax and an option USB connector. The USB option also provides digital throughput to any two-channel device, such as Apogee's Mini-Me.
Analog outputs include two XLR ports, optional USB, minijack for connection to consumer devices and a quarter-inch headphone plug. It also offers level control for analog output for direct connection to powered monitors.
Apogee's Mini-DAC is available now for Mac OS X without additional drivers required and with additional drivers for Mac OS 9 and Windows. It sells for $999 without the USB option, $1,295 with. For more information, visit http://www.apogeedigital.com.
