Apogee Intros AD-16X and DA-16X

Apogee has introduced a new line of converters called the X-Series. The company this week launched the first two models in the series, the AD-16X and the DA-16X. Both are being shown off this week at the NAMM convention in Anaheim, Calif.

The new AD-16X and DA-16X offer standard sampling rates up to 192 kHz, Apogee conversion, option cards that will connect both units directly to Pro Tools HD and FireWire devices and the C777 clocking technology found in the Big Ben master clock. The AD-16X includes 16 channels of 24-bit A/D conversion; AES, ADAT/SMUX output; word clock I/O; compatibility with the X-FireWire and X-HD expansion cards; and the optional Pro Tools | HD expansion card. The DA-16X offers 16 channels of 24-bit A/D conversion; AES, ADAT/SMUX input; word clock I/O; an optional S800 FireWire expansion card; and the optional Pro Tools | HD expansion card.
