Anomalous Networks Adds New GEO-FENCING Capabilities to Telicost for BlackBerry Smartphone UsersNew Alerting System to Help With Device Management, Control and Tracking (May 03, 2011)
ORLANDO, FL -- (Marketwire) -- 05/03/11 -- BlackBerry World 2011 -- Anomalous Networks, Inc., the innovator and leading supplier of Real-Time Telecom Expense Management (R-TEM) solutions, today announced new GEO-FENCING capabilities for BlackBerry® smartphone users. This new module will allow BlackBerry® administrators and users to set up different geographical parameters to track and monitor their devices when entering or leaving certain locations. GEO-FENCING adds another layer for inventory tracking and costly roaming situations, including domestic roaming that can have a negative effect on telecom budgets. It warns the user if they are entering an area that is more costly, and alerts the company when certain mobile devices are not in their defined area, or if they have been lost or stolen.
"One out of every six Americans suffers from Bill Shock," said Anomalous Networks CEO Dan Rudich. "That translates into 30 million subscribers in America alone suffering from unexpected and costly overages on their telecom bills. Telicost offers BlackBerry smartphone users a remedy to Bill Shock by notifying them in real-time about their usage. In addition, our new GEO-FENCING module provides an extra cushion to give BlackBerry smartphone users the ability to track their device location at all times. Not only does this allow companies to gain a better understanding of device usage and overages, but GEO-FENCING ensures company devices are not misused."
When combined with the Telicost Roaming Control capabilities, the GEO-FENCING module will allow companies to prevent costly surprises and estimate the economic impact of roaming charges in expensive geographic regions. It will also give administrators peace of mind that expensive company assets cannot be taken out of geographic boundaries without administrator approval. Administrators will be able to view their BlackBerry Assets on a map and sort for users that are roaming as well as create geo-fence alerts for when users either enter or leave a defined geographic region. BlackBerry® PlayBook tablet users will also be able to load the Telicost-Mobile App and view their fleet of mobile devices directly from the PlayBook.
Anomalous Networks will be demonstrating its Telicost solution at the BlackBerry World Conference in Orlando, FL from May 3-5 at Booth #209.
Telicost-Lite is a totally free app that prevents Bill Shock for consumers. Users simply download the free app from http://anomalousnetworks.com/telicost-lite/download-form/. Telicost-Lite will immediately start tracking the user's data, voice, and SMS usage in real-time and warn them when they get close to their limit. Telicost-Lite will even monitor users' WiFi vs Cellular usage and proactively warn users when their device starts to use a very costly roaming network.
Telicost provides businesses with a centralized view or dashboard of their aggregated telecom expenses in real-time with streamlined reporting on data usage, international roaming, usage anomalies and asset location tracking. In addition to predicting and preventing upcoming telecom costs, users gain real-time visibility and control over their mobile work force. The administrator will be able to see projected end-of-month costs before the costs are actually incurred.
