Anita Borg Institute for Women and Technology Second Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing India Opens in Bangalore(December 15, 2011)
PALO ALTO, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 12/15/11 -- The Anita Borg Institute for Women and Technology today announced a turnout of almost 1000 attendees for the second Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing India Conference. The Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing India is the only annual conference exclusively for technical women in India; it brings the research and career interests of women in computing in India to the forefront. Presenters are leaders in their respective fields representing industrial, academic and government communities. The Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing is taking place at the KTPO Trade Centre in Bangalore India, December 14-16, 2011.
"The Grace Hopper Celebration for Women in Computing provides a platform for technical women from all over India to discuss the latest technology as well as explore professional and personal development. Over 300 Indian technical women from 84 organizations have worked together over the last year to develop sessions and content specific to the challenges for technical women. Thursday, December 15th featured a Keynote by Hema Gopal, Vice President, Tata Consultancy Services Limited. In conjunction with the India Semiconductor Association (ISA) the conference will feature an Electronic System Design and Manufacturing track including a keynote by Dina McKinney, Corporate Vice President, Technology Group, AMD. Conference sessions include Managing Upwards, Robust Routing in Ad Hoc Networks, and Chip Verification.
Friday, December 16th will feature a Keynote by Dr. Sunita Maheshwari ABP, ABPC (USA) Senior Consultant Pediatric Cardiologist and Chief Dreamer, RXDX and Teleradiology Solutions. There will also be the Women's Entrepreneur Quest, a pitch contest designed to promote and showcase early-stage technology ventures founded or led by women entrepreneurs.
