Angel Studios Upgrades with Euphonix System 5UK studio selects digital audio system for recording and mixing. (May 07, 2004)
Angel Recording Studios in Islington wholly owned by Music Publishers de Wolfe Ltd. of London, has purchased a Euphonix System 5 digital mixing console. The console will be used for recording and mixing music for film and television. The three-studio complex is renowned for its acoustics and ability to house large orchestral groups. Angel is rated as one of the top facilities in the UK for this type of work.
Not afraid to mix technologies, or architecture, the complex, which was originally a United Reform Church, still houses an 1888 Speechley pipe organ and has retained a set of Victorian choir stalls. By adding the Euphonix System 5, in Studio 2, Angel will have a fully digital console to add to their existing analogue range.
Gary Thomas, senior engineer commented, ?The System 5 control surface was very comfortable from the start. He added ?The more we looked into the desk the more inspired we became, the System 5 really lends itself to a fresh approach to music mixing and recording."
Euphonix Sales Manager, Mark Hosking, stated, ?We are delighted that Angel has chosen the System 5. Angel was looking for a versatile and powerful digital desk to not only take care of the mixing but to also handle the overflow from their other rooms when required. The System 5 is both a sonically excellent and very creative console and this sale confirms Euphonixs growing reputation as the number one choice in large-format digital consoles.
