Andromeda Updates Screening ToolsPhotoshop filters get Mac OS X support
The new updates bring Andromeda's filters for Mac OS X up to a total of eight, with three more in the works (planned for a spring 2004 release). The latest updates include all of Andromeda's artistic screening tools.Cutline is a filter for creating engraving and woodcut effects on images. It includes four individual screens, plus tools for positioning and adjusting screen lines. EtchTone is a filter for producing the look of a steel etch on an image. And the Series 3 Screens collection creates line art screens from 15 LPI to 400 LPI, including mezzotints, ellipses, lines, waves and other effects.
Andromeda also plans to release three other filters in spring 2004 for Mac OS X. These include Series 1 Photography Filters, Velociraptor and Shadow.
Those who purchased EtchTone, Cutline or Series 3 Screens within the last 30 days are eligible for free updates to the Mac OS X versions. Updates for other users run $25.95 for the CD, including shipping. The Series 3 Screens collection runs $109. EtchTone costs $98. And Cutline sells for $74.
