Andromeda Releases ScatterLight Lenses

Photoshop filter mimics photographic lenses By Dave Nagel
Andromeda Software has released its new ScatterLight Lenses plugin for Adobe Photoshop. The software is available for Macintosh and Windows, and Andromeda says all of its Photoshop plugins will also be available for Mac OS X by the end of the year.

ScatterLight Lenses is the latest in Andromeda's collection of photographic filters for Adobe Photoshop. It includes four variable effects that mimic camera lenses. These include:

  • DreamOptics, which pulls and scatters light from highlighted areas of an image.
  • StarLight, which focuses light over the brightest areas of an image to create a starlight effect. (It includes various optical lens patterns.)
  • SoftDiffuser, which softens an image to create diffusion or fog effects.
  • SoftFocus, which is designed for softening portraits.

The ScatterLight Lenses plugin is available now. The regular price is $98. Andromeda is also offering 30 percent off the purchase of a second filter in its photographic filters series with the purchase of ScatterLight Lenses. For more information or to see examples, visit
