Andromeda Outlines OS X Upgrade Plans

Native Photoshop plugins to roll out this month By Dave Nagel
Andromeda Software, the maker of a large number of plugins for Adobe Photoshop, has released details of its plans to roll out Mac OS X versions of its software. The company's plugins currently support Mac OS 9, and many support Windows as well. ONly two--RedEyePro and ScatterLight Lenses--support Mac OS X.

According to Andromeda, the first wave of new Mac OS X updates will hit May 14 and will include three filters: LensDoc, Perspective and VariFocus. LensDoc is a plugin for fixing or creating lens distortions. Perspective offers a virtual 3D camera for manipulating graphics in 3D space. And VariFocus allows users to focus and defocus elements in a composition.

The second wave of OS X updates will also include three filters: Cutline, EtchTone and Screens. Cutline produces screens, cross hatches and litho-style effects. EtchTone creates line effects. And the Screens filter produces line screen effects. These are due out by August.

Andromeda has not yet announced plans for pricing on the Mac OS X updates. For more information, visit
