Andromeda Brings Filters to Mac OS X

Updated Photoshop plugins include LensDoc, VariFocus, Perspective By Dave Nagel
Andromeda has updated three of its plugins for Adobe Photoshop: LensDoc, Perspective and VariFocus. The new updates bring the software to Mac OS X.

LensDoc is a plugin for fixing or creating lens distortions, including barreling and pincushioning. Perspective offers a virtual 3D camera for manipulating graphics in 3D space. And VariFocus allows users to focus and defocus elements in a composition. All three now run within Photoshop 7 on Mac OS X. Download versions are available now. Boxed versions are expected to arrive May 24.

Andromeda says it also plans to release three other filters for Mac OS X: Cutline, EtchTone and Screens. Cutline produces screens, cross hatches and litho-style effects. EtchTone creates line effects. And the Screens filter produces line screen effects. These are due out by August.

LensDoc sells for $98. Perspective and VariFocus sell for $47 each. Andromeda's Web site has not yet been updated to include upgrade pricing from previous versions. For more information, visit
