Amwest Zipclik Announces Release of iPhone Application(November 23, 2011)
LOS ANGELES, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 11/23/11 -- Amwest Imaging Incorporated (OTCBB: AMWI) is pleased to announce it has completed the development of its iPhone Application for its proprietary Zipclik encryption software, and is looking forward to its pending release in Apple's "app store." The application now provides the ability to utilize peer-to-peer encryption for voice calls between iPhone users.
This important application will allow iPhone users to have secure, encrypted calls when using VoIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) calls using Skype and other VoIP services, when the Zipclik software is installed on their iPhones.
For a one-time download fee of $99.00 people can utilize a version of the Zipclik privacy software which ensures secure and private conversation. The privacy and security of Skype is under question, but Zipclik eliminates the question of security through its own encryption software.
In an interview Kurt Sauer, the Chief Security Officer of Skype, said, "We provide a safe communication option. I will not tell you whether we can listen or not." Skype's client uses an undocumented and proprietary protocol. The Free Software Foundation (FSF) is concerned by user privacy issues arising from using proprietary software and protocols and has made a replacement for Skype one of their high priority projects.
Security researchers Biondi and Desclaux have speculated that Skype may have a back door, since Skype sends traffic even when it is turned off and because Skype has taken extreme measures to obfuscate their traffic and functioning of their program. Several media sources reported that at a meeting about the "Lawful interception of IP based services" high-ranking unnamed officials at the Austrian interior ministry said that they could listen in on Skype conversations without problems.
In short, there are many difficulties with having a secure conversation using Skype and other VoIP services.
In looking at the potential of user groups for Zipclik software, the Company looks to recent market statistics: Wired magazine announces that iTunes now boosts over 200 million users and the ever-popular Skype software continues to grow past 625 million registered users.
The Zipclik software (www.Zipclik.com), pending approval, will be readily available for purchase across iTunes and will encrypt conversations for both Skype voice and messaging calls.
