American Soda Says Cheers To New iPhone App From Fluid Creativity(June 15, 2012)

American Soda, supplier of the largest range of American food and soda in the UK, appointed Manchester digital agency Fluid Creativity to design their iPhone app, launched this week, to enable fans of their famous stateside flavours to browse their enormous product range and make purchases on the move.
Supplying nearly 800 products to online customers, American Soda has a highly dedicated UK fan base. 15% of customers are American ex-pats hungry for a taste of home, while the remainder are simply fans of all-American flavours such as Lucky Charms breakfast cereal, root beer, Smuckers Goober Grape and Hersheys and Twizzlers candy.
Mobile traffic to the American Soda site increased by an extraordinary 225% in 2011, while 9% of the companys revenue comes from mobile users, with 75% of those using iOS devices, so enhancing their shopping experience is a clear priority.
Lee Turner, Managing Director at Fluid Creativity, said:
American Soda has recently experienced a huge uplift in sales from mobile customers but browsing so many products and making purchases from the website on a small screen is not as easy as it could be. Designing a mobile app is the obvious way forward. Such a high proportion of mobile customers are already using iOS devices that we decided an iPhone app would be the best solution.
Using an iPhone, customers can easily search by keywords or do a barcode scan, browse all the product categories and sign up for notifications when products are back in stock. The whole shopping experience is easier and quicker.
