Alpha Virtual and Oddcast to Add Collaborative CapabilitiesNew Features to be Added to Oddcast's Online VideoMixer and Karaoke Station Applications (December 06, 2001)
Alpha Virtual's OneView technology will add multi-user collaboration to the Oddcast VideoMixer and Karaoke products, currently showcased on GetMusic.com, a Vivendi Universal company; Warner Bros.' Rock Star Karaoke; and on BET interactive, a division of Viacom's Black Entertainment Television. The enhanced features will allow users to share with their friends, in real-time, the experience of creating and viewing music videos and karaoke presentations.
"There is a large and rapidly growing market for an affordable, multi-user-friendly means of providing an interactive environment via the Internet," said Dan Mapes, CEO of Alpha Virtual. "Our joint software development project will give an added dimension to the Internet experience and will embrace the rapidly-emerging market for peer-to-peer collaboration among friends, family, and business associates."
"Following in-depth analysis of many technology providers and their offerings, Alpha Virtual clearly stood out as Oddcast's ideal partner in bringing collaborative, multi-user, music community experiences to our existing applications," said Adi Sideman, CEO of Oddcast. "Alpha Virtual also provides an added value as a possible revenue generator enabling us to potentially assess fees for a club membership which allows users to share experiences with those of like-minded passions."
