Alias Releases New Maya Learning Tools

Six training titles unveiled at 3December By Dave Nagel
Alias Systems has released new titles in its line of learning tools for Maya, the company's flagship 3D modeling and animation suite. At the 3December event today, the company unveiled six new titles, covering topics for beginners, game developers and film and video professionals. Most are available now.

For beginners, Alias has released two new DVD titles, including Maya 5 Beginner's Guide | Rendering and Maya 5 Beginner's Guide | Dynamics. Both sell for $34.99. There are also two new DVD titles targeted toward game developers. These include Maya Techniques: Character Articulation for Games and Maya Techniques | Developing an Environment Toolkit. Both are by LucasArts game developers and both sell for $129.99. Alias has also announced two titles for film and video professionals. These include Maya Techniques | Flow Workflows, which offers techniques and footage from Tom Kluyskens of Weta Digital, and Maya Techniques | Previsualization, by Pepe Valencia and Dan Ziegler from SOny Pictures Imageworks. Both sell for $129.99. Flow Workflows will be available Dec. 9. A release date for Previsualization has not yet been announced.
