More than 200 new fonts and font packages from Agfa Monotype Corp. are available on Fonts.com. The collections from MacCampus, Outside the Line Design, PizzaDude and Typodermic can be viewed at www.fonts.com/foundries.
?Releasing new foundries and fonts allows us to maintain an unrivalled level of quality and selection, said Allan Haley, director of words and letters at Agfa Monotype. ?These particular collections contain some of the most spirited, contemporary designs available on Fonts.com.
MacCampus, a German foundry headed by Sebastian Kempgen, offers two typefaces on Fonts.com. The unconventional serifs of the Magister Book font give it an art nouveau flavour not unlike the ITC Benguiat typeface. The Campus Ten/Campus Twelve family is based on the system font of the iPod mobile digital device and the original Macintosh operating system. MacCampus typeface families are $25 each for Macintosh computers in either PostScript or TrueType font formats.
Rae Kaisers Outside the Line foundry is filled with typefaces and ornaments with a hand-drawn style. Kaisers Architectural Lettering font is an all-caps design inspired by writing found on old blueprints. Her award-winning Doodles face contains sketches of everyday items and simple designs. Most of the 13 Outside the Line fonts are available in PostScript for Macintosh computers and in TrueType for both Mac and Microsoft Windows platforms. Each font is $36.
Jakob Fischer named his PizzaDude foundry after a character in the 1980s movie, ?The Burbs. His light-hearted collection is filled with informal display fonts including the Malonia Voiga design, which elicits a jumpy, excited feel, and Fischers TagBoy Hardcore font, influenced by graffiti-style writing. The 63 PizzaDude products are available in TrueType for both Windows and Mac platforms. Prices for individual fonts start at $22 with font volumes beginning at $32.
The Typodermic foundry from Ray Larabie is one of the largest collections added to Fonts.com. The 168 fonts and font packages range from elegant to extravagant, including the Neuropol Nova family, a futuristic sans serif display design available in 18 variations. The Wyvern family, with 10 variations, appears modern and space-economic. Typodermic fonts are available in TrueType for Mac platforms and TrueType and PostScript for Windows computers. Prices for individual fonts start at $22 with volumes beginning at $38.
As the Internets most comprehensive and convenient place to preview, purchase and download fonts, Fonts.com offers single fonts, packages, family volumes and type libraries, including both the Monotype and ITC libraries. Visitors are greeted with clear navigation and multiple search options in addition to articles, tips and techniques.
