After iPhone, eMarketer Launches Executive View for BlackBerryAs Digital Breaks Silos, Apps See Fast Adoption (May 17, 2011)
NEW YORK, NY -- (Marketwire) -- 05/17/11 -- eMarketer today introduced its Executive View app for BlackBerry, which provides eMarketer reports and insights in a simple, easy-to-use mobile application.
The launch of the new app coincides with the rapid adoption among eMarketer clients of Executive View for iPhone, which eMarketer released in April 2011. According to eMarketer President Lisa Church, the acceleration in client usage is indicative of digital's growing importance to the marketing and advertising world.
"We're seeing a sea change right now among our clients," Ms. Church said. "A couple years ago, most marketers were content to keep digital in a silo. Today, our most successful clients are disseminating digital information with tools like Executive View throughout the organization, using it to make data-driven decisions about their overall marketing strategy."
"It's not enough to rely on the research department for information about digital anymore -- everyone needs to be up to speed," said Rick Wion, director of social media at McDonald's Corporation. "That's where eMarketer Executive View comes in."
"Executive View is all the information I need about digital marketing and media -- anytime and anywhere I need it," Mr. Wion added. "For someone who does most of their research reading while they're traveling, it is a must-have."
Both apps allow users to read the latest eMarketer reports and insights on social media, online video, location-based services, ecommerce, internet advertising and other topics. Users can also flag "Favorite" reports with a star for quick reference or later reading. eMarketer clients with access to both Executive View and eMarketer Total Access will have their "Favorites" synced automatically.
According to Ms. Church, the app was designed for client users who need to be able to access information about digital trends anywhere. "It may be 10 minutes in the back of a cab, or an hour and a half in the air -- we need to deliver where our clients are," said Ms. Church. "Whenever and wherever they have the time, Executive View is ready, and our clients love it."
Despite its release for iPhone less than six weeks ago, adoption of Executive View has been rapid. eMarketer clients already using Executive View include:
- Four of the top five global agency holding companies
- Six of the top 10 US media companies
- Seven of the top 10 national advertisers
- Eight of the top 15 worldwide advertisers
So far, many have given Executive View positive reviews.
"Executive View is a great application," said Dave Chaimson, vice president of global marketing at Sony Creative Software. "It's easy to browse and read, and it makes keeping up with digital trends all the more convenient. I've got eMarketer with me whenever I need it."
Andy Kauffman, vice president of global ecommerce marketing at Marriott International, said Executive View was "all in all, a useful app -- especially for professionals that spend most of their day away from the computer."
eMarketer expects to release Executive View for Android in the next few weeks. For more information, please visit http://emarketer.com/Products/ev.aspx.
