Adoption of 24P On the Rise Among Production / Post FacilitiesSCRI reports by 2004 more than six in ten facilities across the board will be shooting and/or mastering in 24P
Among film production/post facilities, more than half are already shooting and/or mastering in 24P and by 2004, over eight in ten will be doing so. About three in ten video post facilities are already shooting and/or mastering in 24P and by 2004 over seven in ten will be doing so. The numbers among video production facilities, one in ten are already shooting in 24P and within two years this will jump to more than six in ten facilities.
24 fps progressive mastering format in 1080x1920 was originally proposed back in 1998 to simplify the process of converting to the various video standards for the networks and broadcasters worldwide In the same way that 601 digital swept the post world, it appears that 24p HD is poised to become the next industry standard - especially for universal mastering and distribution.
