Adobe Updates Acrobat 6, Adobe Reader

By DMN Staff Writer
Adobe Systems has released an update to Acrobat 6.0.1 as well as the Adobe Reader 6.0.1 that addresses a number of fixes to the application that were made after the applications were released. The updates for Acrobat Standard or Professional can be downloaded from the Adobe website at www.adobe.com/support/downloads/main.html. The update for the Adobe reader can be downloaded at www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html.

Some of the fixes include the capability to open PDF files from secured (HTTPS) Web sites that use Netegrity site management software; an erroneous alert that reported that a font has an invalid encoding and that some glyphs may not appear has been fixed. (Applies only to PDF files created in Mac OS X); and Euro symbol now appears properly in older PDF files; PDF files created by earlier versions of Acrobat now open and display properly.
