Adobe Posts ICC Profiles

12 color profiles available free By Dave Nagel
Adobe is making available a dozen ICC profiles as free downloads. The company says it's doing this to allow designers "to get the most consistent, highest quality color output available ..." across their workflows. The profiles are available now for Mac OS 9, Mac OS X and Windows.

The profiles in the free collection are not new and were automatically installed with various recent Adobe graphics and publishing applications, including Acrobat 5 and up, Illustrator 9 and up, InDesign 1.0-J, InDesign 2 and up and Photoshop 6 and up. But for those who do not have these applications, Adobe is providing the profiles for free. They include three RGB profiles--Adobe RGB (1998), Apple RGB and ColorMatch RGB--as well as nine CMYK profiles. CMYK profiles include US Web Coated (SWOP) v2, US Web Uncoated v2, US Sheetfed Coated v2, US Sheetfed Uncoated v2, Euroscale Coated v2, Euroscale Uncoated v2, Japan Web Coated (Ad), Japan 2001 Coated and Japan 2001 Uncoated.

Al of the profiles are available now for Mac OS 9 and Mac OS X ina single downloadable archive. Installation instructions are provided on Adobe's download page. For more information, visit
