Adobe Photoshop 7 Style Layer Effects: Series #9

More Photoshop Style Layers to produce beautiful effects quick and easy By Don Lee
In series 9 of my Adobe Photoshop 7 Style Layer tutorials, I have created 2 more effects that you can implement into your Style Layers palette to give your designs or text elements a new look quick and easy. The three effects are named ?Artwork and ?Lavalamp. These Style Layers will work well with either objects or text as the examples display. Detailed instructions have been added to help the user install and implement the Style Layers into their next Photoshop project. Have fun and enjoy the effects!

Style effect #1:
Don Lee's Artwork Style Layer
In the first example, the phrase ?Artwork is created using the ITC Anna font and the Drop Shadow, Inner Shadow, Outer Glow, Inner Glow, Bevel and Emboss (Contour only), Gradient Overlay, Pattern Overlay and Stroke. The use of the Gradient Overlay effect provides a majority of the design using the Hard Light blend mode with a Reflected gradient type, the angle set to minus 3 degrees and scale to 90%. The color scheme can be changed in the Gradient Overlay to suit your design project. The Carpet texture and its settings can be changed in the Pattern Overlay effect. This classy looking style would lend a nice touch to your next project.

Style effect #2:
Don Lee's Lavalamp Style Layer
In the second example, the phrase ?Lavalamp is created using the Bellbottom font and the Drop Shadow, Inner Shadow, Inner Glow, Bevel and Emboss (Contour), Gradient Overlay and Stroke style effects. The color scheme in the Gradient Overlay provides the nice retro look to your objects. The bevel and Inner Shadow provide a nice shading at the top which also makes it appear glasslike. If you wish to modify the depth to the bevel, you can increase or decrease the amount of bevel by changing the setting at Bevel and Emboss>Structure>Depth. Its currently set at 100% but you can increase the amount for a deeper beveled look. Even though this design looks more elaborate than the Artwork style layer, the Lavalamp design was easier to achieve.

As you continue through this tutorial, you will find instructions to install and download these FREE Style Layer effects.
