Adobe Packs the house

Despite the massive lead time, leaks,  and speculation flying around the professional suite of tools from Adobe, they remained a strong draw at Adobe, with names like Brian Maffitt packing the seats for every presentation, right up until the last minute of the show.

In what seems to be the year of "announce as early as possible," Adobe posted a version of Photoshop CS3 on its website for all to download and check out.  Before the biggest broadcast show of the year, Adobe even allowed us press people and educators the chance to release some amazing details of the applications - believe me, it was all I could do to keep from exploding.

Steve Kilisky, senior product manager of Adobe After Effects and a major motion graphics user deity, even started early before the NAB expo, touring the country and holding online conferences to talk about the new features - which many haven't even seen yet - still!  In the month before NAB, Steve went to the New York AE users group ( and Motion Graphics Los Angeles (  Thousands of AE users twitched, anxiously waiting for April 16.

If you couldn't make it to the Adobe dinner on Monday night where many of the top users spoke about the product and gave presentations, don't worry.  Adobe has published those presentations online.
